Do you have to be an FCS member to enter the awards?

No, all companies who meet the qualifying description as set out on the awards page are allowed to enter the FCS awards free of charge.


Where will this year's award evening be held?

The Business Radio Gala Dinner 2014 will be held on Thursday 13th November 2014 at the Heritage Motor Centre, Banbury Road, Gaydon, Warwickshire, CV35 0BJ.


What criteria will the judges be looking for?

Clarity of entry
Extent to which entry meets award objectives
Commitment to quality
Impact in the market
Relevance and quality of case study
Relevance and quality of testimonials

Clarity of entry


The judges will evaluate how well the company and the product, service or business model is described.

This applies to the candidate and scheme in the case of the apprentice award.


Extent to which entry meets the award objectives

The judges will evaluate how closely the product or service meets the objectives of the award in question. (Applies to the scheme and/or candidate in the case of the Apprentice award).

This may include, as applicable:

* How innovative the product or service is (i.e. is based on new technolgy, re-uses existing technology to provide new capabilities for customers, combines technologies or services in a new way etc.)
* How the product or service incorporates industry best practice to deliver quality to the customer
* How the product or service reduces environmental impact

In the case of the Apprentice award, this may include the effectiveness or quality of the scheme, the achievement of the candicdate (above the norm)and the quality of training delivered.


Commitment to quality

The judges will evaluate to what extent the product or service demonstrates a commitment to quality.

This may include:

* Design of the product or service (including environmental design)
* Monitoring of the provision of the service
* Arrangements for ongoing improvement of the product or service
* Provision of gauarantees
* Customer satisfaction measurement

In the case of the Apprentice award, this may include monitoring of candidate results, mentoring and feedback arrangements, measurement of outcomes etc.


Impact in the market

The judges will evaluate the impact that the product or service has had in its sector:

* Provides an improved ability to meet customer needs
* Opens up new customer areas
* Level of adoption (or sales projections)


In the case of the Apprentice award:

* Taps into new sources for candidates
* Provides qualifications in new skill areas
* Number of candidates on scheme/qualified


Relevance and quality of case study

The judges will evaluate the extent to which the case study submitted demonstates that the product or service meets the award criteria.

In the case of the Apprentice award, this question applies to the statement of candidate achievements.


Relevance and quality of testimonials

The judges will evaluate the extent to which the customer testimonials provide evidence that the product or service meets the award criteria.

In the case of the Apprentice award the evaluation for this question should be based on the statements from the candidate and/or mentor.


What is the cut off date for all submissions?

The cut off date will be Friday 31st October 2014 for all submissions.



How will I know if my company is a finalist?

The FCS will let each company know individually as well as sending out an official press release.
